With a degree in physical education and exercise physiology, Denise’s emphasis is on staying fit naturally, by fitting exercise into your everyday life. Her LifeFit programs are founded upon the philosophy of getting about 30 minutes of exercise per day, focusing on meal portion control, proper nutrient balance for daily nourishment, and community support for a sense of well-being. Her programs often integrate a variety of methods including cardiovascular exercise, strength training, toning and stretching, yoga, pilates, cross training, walking and more.
Denise is the Fitness Ambassador to AARP, has formerly served two terms as a member of the President’s Council on Physical Fitness and Sports, and helped launch the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s food pyramid guidance system.
Denise has been married for 30 years to Jeff Austin, a sports attorney and brother of tennis champ Tracy Austin. They have two daughters, Kelly and Katie.
